The Bilateral Aid Review was conducted to ensure the UK gets the best possible value for money from aid spending. The Review's aims include:

• identifying countries in which DFID's presence should be maintained or where offices should close;
• prioritising results in each country; and
• providing guidance on the preparation of country Operational Plans.
